Personal context

The same product information does not mean the same thing to every shopper.

Most beauty product pages are generic. Every shopper sees the same description, the same ingredient list, the same reviews and the same bestseller ranking. But shoppers are not generic.

One person may be looking for hydration. Another may be focused on oiliness. Another may care about texture, fragrance, specific ingredients, or compatibility with an existing routine.

Kotiful is being built to add personal context to product information so a shopper does not have to manually translate every generic product page into “What does this mean for me?”

Compatibility should mean context, not certainty

“Skin compatibility” can sound more precise than cosmetics science allows.

Kotiful should not tell you that a product is guaranteed to work, guaranteed to be reaction-free, or medically suitable. Instead, compatibility is best understood as decision context: the product can surface information that may be more relevant given a declared profile, concerns, preferences or avoid list.

The shopper still makes the decision.

Why generic rankings have limits

A bestseller can be an excellent product. That does not mean it is the best product for every person. A high rating tells you something about a group of users. It does not automatically answer:

Personal context helps narrow the gap between group popularity and individual decision-making.

What personal context can organize

Where supported and verified, Kotiful is designed to use profile information to organise product information around areas such as skin type, skin concerns, product preferences, ingredients a shopper chooses to look for or avoid, and routine context.

The exact fields available will always reflect what the product actually implements at the time. Nothing on this page should be read as a description of a shipped feature set.

Personalization without medical claims

Kotiful is not a diagnostic service. It should not:

The value of personalization is relevance — not false certainty.

A clearer question

Instead of asking “Is this universally good?”, Kotiful is being built to help you ask “What should I consider about this product, given what I am looking for?”

That is a more useful product decision.

Worth being precise about
Kotiful provides cosmetic product information and decision context, not medical advice. It does not diagnose skin conditions, predict allergic reactions, or guarantee that a product will suit you. If you have a diagnosed skin condition, persistent irritation, are pregnant, or use prescription topicals, speak to a clinician or pharmacist. Patch test new products.
